Our Story

Salento Italia is a cozy neighborhood restaurant rooted in approachable, comforting Italian cooking. Our kitchen emphasizes high-quality ingredients and thoughtful preparations of beloved Italian dishes featuring subtle references to our family's Greek roots. We welcome guests to join us seven days a week for happy hour and dinner across our dining rooms, bar, and enclosed year-round patio.

Salento Italia is a long-imagined collaboration between restaurateurs Bill Darsinos, Sam Darsinos and Maryanna Agelinas Graves. These three lifelong friends emigrated to the United States with their families in the 1970s from their native Korinthia, Greece; the Darsinos family put down roots in Middle Tennessee while the Agelinas family settled in Western Kentucky. Their shared vision for Salento Italia honors a 40+ year collective family history as owner-operators of beloved community staples s across the Southeast (with GReKo, Darfons, Southside Grill, SweetMilk, and Majestic House among them).
